Welcome to Dr. Halverson's Web Page, which has...
----- Information for my* students at Stern MASS, a fabulous high school on the campus of Cal State LA.
----- Information for Halverson’s Physics and STEM students.
----- My resume, my publications and other information about myself..

*My status at Stern MASS has changed. I have left regular teaching but I am still running the Engineering Club Thursdays and Fridays after school.
I am now teaching Physics 2AG (introductory Physics) at Mount San Antonio College, aka Mt SAC.

The Mt SAC Physics and Engineering Department is GREAT! Students get a solid academic foundation in Physics and get to use it right away doing fabulous engineering projects. I just saw the student built rocket that got up to 11000 feet altitude.

Physics and Engineering is co-located with Mt SAC’s Earth Sciences and Astronomy department. So you can use your physics knowledge learning about the universe and/or how the Earth was formed, and where to look for valuable resources.

Update: The Stern MASS Engineering Club telescope WORKS! This picture of the moon was taken by Adrian De La Torre using his phone, pointing through the telescope’s eyepiece. We’re working on a handy phone holder to make it easy to take pictures like this. I personally want good pictures of Jupiter and Saturn.
